Scholarships are awarded to disadvantaged Ugandan women to pursue a midwifery degree at St. Mary’s in Kalongo, Uganda
Scholarship recipients come from extreme poverty; many are orphans, others whose parents are subsistence farmers. Without a scholarship these women would not be able to become midwives.
Midwives are oftentimes the only health professional in their Ugandan community. Their presence means more positive outcomes for maternal and child care.
